Abstract

Like the rest of sciences, Psychology has not always been able to avoid the influence of a kind of thinking, present during several centuries, characterised by its lineal. androcentric and reduccionist character. This influence has led to studies of the reality, that have been claimed to be universal, but are only partial. In the field of ethics construction, the contraposition of works from authors such as Kholberg and Gilligan clearly illustrate the consequences of a reductionist focus based only on the study of individuals of masculine sex and the important contributions brought about by an integrationist approach. Thanks to the works of Gilligan it has emerged the ethics of care and responsibility which takes into account the differential aspects and the peculiar necessities of people. This ethics contrasts with the one of justice described by Kholberg, which characteristics are the principal of equality and the blindness in front of specific characteristics of every human being. Both kinds of ethics, however, look like complementary. The work, which is being presented, includes both ethics focuses implicitly contrasted in an experimental situation, in which subjects of different ages (from 6 to 21 years old) are asked to take decisions which imply either to choose one or another of these focuses or to integrate both of them. The treatment of the data is carried out by an analysis of the appearing organising models. This allows to differentiate: a) the data of the situation that are prominent for those subjects of each age; b) the meaning attributed to each one of them; c) the way in which they have organized them in order to confer a meaning to the whole and d) the implications that they derive from all of that. The study of the evolution of the organizing models in different ages shows that the evolution of the ethical conceptions when is presented in a situation close to the real life is far from being lineal and far from getting close to the established theoretical moral as Kholberg pretended. This peards prompt us to outline the analysis of the psychic processes leading to ethics construction by means of theoretical models that take into account the complexity and to leave the lineal models unable to describe the observed phenomenon.
