La función de contención. Una práctica interdisciplinar en el hospital

Resumen

Al subrayar la necesidad de mejorar la calidad humana en la relación asistencial se ha insistido, sobre todo, en los cuidados al paciente, omitiendo y hasta evitando dar importancia o lo necesidad de atender también al profesional sanitario. Este trata de absorber riesgos y contener situaciones que, con frecuencia, le desbordan por carecer de una adecuado preparación para comprender el significado psicológico de determinadas conductas y manejar los desajustes emocionales en la relación interpersonal inherente a su trabajo. Se señala la necesidad de buscar y desarrollar fórmulas alternativas, sobre todo en técnicas de grupo, que permitan la formación psicológica suficiente del profesional y lo contención de éste en el equipo

Abstract

When emphasizing the necessity of improving the, human relation between physician and patient, it has mainly been referred to the patient care, avoiding, or not giving importance to, the attention that ought to be paid to the professional sanitary staff. This staff is often locking the necessary training and education to cope with and understand the psychological Significance of certain behaviours and to handle the emotional dysfunctions of the interpersonal, work relations. Me stress the necessity of finding and developing alternative patterns concerning mainly group techniques, which permit the sufficient psychological training of the professional and his/her holding in the group
