Resumen
Se administraron, a una muestra de 240 sujetos de ambos sexos y diferentes niveles de práctica de actividad fÃsica, dos medidas, habilidad fÃsica percibida y actividad fÃsica realizada. Los resultados obtenidos informaron de diferencias entre hombres y mujeres en la habilidad fÃsica percibida y correlaciones positivas, estadÃsticamente significativas, entre ambas medidas. Se considera la posible utilidad de la medida de la habilidad fÃsica percibida como un predictor de adherencia a programas de actividad fÃsica y/o deportiva
Abstract
Two measures, perceived physical ability and exercise behavior, were administered to a sample of 240 subjects, males and females with different levels of practice of physical activity. Results revealed differences between females and males in perceived physical ability and statistically significant correlations between both measures. Potential uses of perceived physical ability measure as an predictor of physical and/or sports programs adherence are discussed
